Proud mom moment.

I wrote this little post on Instagram stories on my teacher account because well, I want my students to understand that I’m a mom too. And almost be that person for them that knows I’ll always be there for them if they needed anything. I think it’s hard for high schoolers to connect with adults these days so I’m always trying to stay relevant/ meet them where they’re at!

Anyways, I felt like the story needed a place to live so here we are with a blog post!

After all the crafts, cupcakes, and candy, it was time to watch a movie — and put on the cozy socks that were the girls party favor. The birthday girl’s pair got a hole in it as soon as she put them on. T decided to give the girl her pair of socks she got, unprovoked.

The birthday girl yelled to her mom, “mommy mommy Tatum gave me her socks to wear!” T and I locked eyes and both smiled softly as I gave her a wink. As we were walking out of the party, I told her how proud I was of her. I could tell she felt proud, and seen. Instilling character in my players and now daughters has been so awesome to experience as a mom.
